Description
The SAGA series dedicates a unique Changing Card to each film, and this one belongs to Episode I – "The Phantom Menace." The lenticular print allows two images to merge: when you tilt the card, the scene changes, and in between lies a brief moment where both images are visible simultaneously. This transition is the true appeal and the reason why these cards are collected rather than sent. The change is clearly executed and not merely hinted at, as is often the case with cheaper lenticular prints.
At approximately 14.8 x 10 cm, the card conforms to postcard size and therefore fits into standard picture frames, collector sleeves, and card stands. Placed on a shelf or desk, the effect works best because your viewing angle changes as you walk by anyway. Those who collect multiple episodes of the series will get a consistently designed set with a uniform format and uniform reverse side.
PET is used as the base material instead of cardboard – it is significantly more dimensionally stable, resistant to moisture, and less prone to dog-eared corners. However, fingerprints are easily visible on the ribbed surface; a microfiber cloth is sufficient. Officially licensed and manufactured in Japan.
