Description
This silicone mold gives small cakes the shape of Miffy, the rabbit from Dick Bruna's picture books. Four cavities, each with a capacity of about 70 ml, yield four mini-madeleines per batch. The flexible silicone can be easily turned inside out after baking, allowing the cakes to be removed without breakage – a crucial point for figurative shapes. Miffy is drawn with just a few strokes, which is surprisingly well-reproduced in the baked result.
The temperature range is from approximately -20 to 230 °C, making the mold suitable for the oven, microwave, refrigerator, and freezer. In addition to pastries, it can also be used for puddings, jellies, or small ice-cream desserts. For jelly, it is recommended to dip the mold in lukewarm water for five to ten seconds before unmolding. Cleaning is done by hand or in the dishwasher. After baking, the mold cools down quickly and can be stored in a space-saving manner.
Important for safety: The mold must never be placed on open flames or in the grill, and it must not be used in toasters without temperature control. In electric ovens, stay below 230 °C. Filling and removing from a hot oven is a task for adults; although silicone is a poor conductor of heat, the contents remain hot for a long time. Imported from Japan, manufactured in China. A second batch is worthwhile if several children are eating.
