Description
Rice that doesn't stick to the spoon: This serving spoon from the Retro Kitchen range has a surface coating that prevents rice from adhering to it. In Japan, such a spoon is a basic kitchen staple because sticky short-grain rice would otherwise cling to any smooth utensil. The shape of the spoon also allows for serving rice loosely and airily instead of compressing it.
It is just as useful for risotto, porridge, or stews. The spoon measures approximately 18 centimeters in length, 6.5 in width, and 1.5 in thickness. It includes a stand in the shape of the Mickey icon, on which the spoon can be placed when not in use without dirtying the work surface. Materials are polypropylene for the spoon and ABS and polypropylene for the stand.
Notes: Information regarding heat resistance and dishwasher suitability is in Japanese on the packaging; when in doubt, clean by hand with mild dish soap and allow to dry. Do not leave the spoon in a hot pan, do not hold it over open flames, and do not place it in an oven or grill. Replace if the coating is damaged, as the rice will then begin to stick again.
