Description
Rice paddle with a Winnie the Pooh figure attached to the end of the handle, approximately 70 x 180 millimeters in size up to the bottom edge of the motif. The shamoji, as the rice paddle is known in Japan, is a staple in every kitchen and is kept next to the rice cooker. This version differs from our Hug-and-Heart rice paddle: it comes without a storage case, featuring the 3D figure instead. Those who keep the paddle next to the rice cooker at all times will likely prefer this open version over the model with a storage case.
The surface of the paddle is textured so that cooked rice is significantly less likely to stick to it than to a smooth ladle, which makes portioning noticeably easier. In Switzerland, it works just as well for risotto, couscous, or mashed potatoes. The spoon itself is made of polypropylene and can withstand temperatures up to about 120 degrees, while the attached figure is made of ABS and only withstands temperatures up to around 80 degrees. This version does not have a hole in the handle for hanging; the paddle is stored lying down.
This material combination determines the care instructions: no dishwasher or dish dryer, as the figure will be damaged. Clean by hand with lukewarm water and mild dish soap, then let it dry completely. Do not leave the paddle in a hot pot and do not put it in the microwave. Restocking is never guaranteed with these imports. Limited Japan import, shipped from Switzerland. Colors and motif placement may vary slightly depending on the production batch.
