Description
Round melamine plate with a 20-centimeter diameter from the NuiPan series, which features Winnie the Pooh and his friends as knitted plush figures. The size sits between a dessert plate and a dinner plate, making it well-suited for breakfast, a mid-morning snack, or a small portion. We carry several plates with different motifs from this series, so it is worth taking a look at the product image.
Melamine is the compromise between porcelain and plastic: The plate feels and sounds more solid than a thin plastic bowl, is flat and lightweight at around 1.7 centimeters high, and generally survives a fall from the table unscathed. This is exactly why the material has been used for children's tableware in Japan for decades. It is heat-resistant up to approximately 120 degrees. The rim is slightly raised so that sauce does not immediately run over the edge.
Melamine resin is not microwave-safe and should not be placed in the oven. Hot food and drinks should be allowed to cool slightly before filling, and for small children, it is best for an adult to check the temperature. For cleaning, hand washing with mild dish soap is recommended; scouring agents and hard brushes will leave matte spots on the design over time. Restocking is never guaranteed with these imports. Limited Japan import, shipping from Switzerland. Melamine will discolor slightly over time with strongly staining foods like curry sauce or tomato sugo, which does not restrict its use.
