Description
Transparent cup featuring Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, printed in a hugging pose. The clear material makes the design look as if it is floating in the drink, which has made these cups popular in Japan for years. Their use is intentionally broad: as a drinking cup at the table, a toothbrush holder in the bathroom, or simply for storing pens. Since the 2002 film, Stitch has been one of those characters that has remained consistently present in Japan, which explains the number of everyday items featuring his motif.
The cup holds around 280 milliliters and measures approximately 81 millimeters in diameter by 90 millimeters in height. The material is methacrylate resin, i.e., acrylic, heat-resistant up to about 100 degrees. Unlike glass, it generally does not break when dropped, making it much more suitable for everyday use by children and in the bathroom than a ceramic or glass version. The wall thickness is chosen so that the cup does not look cheap, despite the clear material.
Dishwashers and dish dryers are explicitly allowed, but microwaves and ovens are not. Hot drinks should not be put in it; the material is not designed for them. To keep a clear view of the motif, do not use scouring agents, as they will dull the surface over time. Restocking is never guaranteed with these imports. Limited Japan import, shipped from Switzerland. After prolonged use, fine scratches may cloud the transparency; this is normal and not a material defect.
